Burn Permits

The City of Harrison has updated its open burning regulations. Anyone planning to conduct open burning within city limits must first obtain a valid burn permit through the St. Maries Fire Protection District. 


How to Obtain a Burn Permit

  • Apply online through the St. Maries Fire Protection District at https://www.stmariesfire.com/burn-permit or call (208) 245-5253 for assistance.
  • If you are unable to print a burn permit request form or apply for a burn permit online, City Hall is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You may visit City Hall during business hours to obtain and submit a burn permit request.


Effective Date: Ordinance No. 498 was approved by the Harrison City Council on August 11, 2026, and became effective upon passage and publication as provided by law.


Important Reminder: A valid burn permit is required before conducting any open burning within Harrison city limits.

Please be advised that traffic on Harrison Street and Lakefront Avenue may be impacted from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. due to unloading and delivery activities.


The roadway will remain open to traffic, but temporary lane restrictions and brief delays may occur. Please use caution when traveling through the area, watch for flaggers, and follow their directions.
